Earning $167,471, SMART CHIC OLENA was the 1990 AQHA World
Champion Senior Cutting Horse, the 1993 AQHA World Champion
Senior Reining Horse, the 1993 NRHA Open Reserve World Cham-
pion and in 2004 was inducted into the NRHA Hall of Fame. He was
also the 1993 Congress NRHA Open Champion, 1991 Congress Open
Cutting Champion, Open Champion at the 1993 NRHA Derby, tied 3rd
in the 1989 NCHA Open Super Stakes, was the 1990 “The Non-Pro”
Open Cutting Co-Champion, 5th in the 1990 Bonanza Open Classic,
top 10 in the 1990 NCHA Open Finals, and was Open Reining & Cutting
winner at a multitude of stock shows & show circuits.
A LEADING SIRE
First becoming a leading sire in 1995, SMART CHIC OLENA was the 1995
Equi-Stat #5 Leading Reining Sire with only 2 crops to show, and
moved up to #2 Leading Reining Sire in 1996 with only 3 crops show-
ing. He became the Equi-Stat #1 Leading Reining & Reined Cow
Horse Sire in 1998, and for 10 consecutive year has been ranked high
among the greatest sires in the country. Today SMART CHIC OLENA is
the NRCHA #2 All-Time Leading Sire, Equi-Stat #2 All-Time Leading
Reined Cow Horse Sire, and the AQHA #1 All-Time Leading Sire of
Open Performance Point-Earners; also the Equi-Stat #3 All-Time
Leading Reining Sire, NRHA’s #5 All-Time Leading Sire, AQHA’s
#3 All-Time Leading Sire of Open Performance ROM, AQHA #4
All-Time Leading Sire of Open Class Winners, AQHA #5 All-Time
Leading Sire of Amateur Point-Earners & Class Winners, and is
currently an NRHA Top 15 Leading Sire for 2015.
