CHILDHOOD

• Franz was born on the 22nd of October in the 19th century,his father,Adam
Liszt was a official in the service of Prince Nicolas Eszterhazy
• He began to show interest in piano at the age of 5,because of this Adam
starts to give him piano lessons.
• Liszt starts to compose at age of 8,and doing public concert at age 9
• He was funded by Hungarian Magnates in musical Education for 6 years
DEBUT

• Similar to Mozart,Franz was considered as a child prodigy because of his

amazing skills at a young age
• Ádám obtained leave of absence from his post and took Franz to Vienna,
where he had piano lessons with Carl Czerny, a composer and pianist who had
been a pupil of Ludwig van Beethoven
• Beethoven attended one of Liszt’s concerts In Vienna on 1823 and kissed the
prodigy on the forehead
THE ENCOUNTER

-In 1832,Franz Lizst met Niccolo Paganini,that results of him vowing to be a

virtouso too
-He also met Chopin and Mendelsshon in the winter of 1831-1832
LOVE AFFAIR

• His first Love affair was with his student Caroline de Saint-Cricq,her death
caused Franz to god existence
• In 1834,It was announced that he was in a relationship with Marie
D’Agoult,they had 3 children,but seperated with her in 1844
THE TOUR

• In 1837, The publisher advices him to go on a tour to make his career grow
• In the 1840s he was performing 3 or 4 times a week,that means he gave over
1000 performances in 8 years
• His tour went well in Vienna but goes terribly wrong on the first time he goes
on Germany and Paris
• Despite not having proper education Liszt received an honorary doctorate
from the University of Konigsberg
DEATH

-Hospitalized for 8 weeks after he fell down some stairs

-Later died of pneumonia on July 31, 1886 in Bayreuth, Germany

• Hungarian Rhapsody-It is prominently used in animated cartoon such as Tom

and Jerry
• La Campanella-Comes from a Larger work of Paganini,It is known for being
one of the hardest composition of all time
