WHAT’S MORE

NULL HYPOTHESIS

 The hypothesis that there is no significant difference between specified populations, any observed difference
being due to sampling or experimental error.

ALTERNATIVE HYPOTHESIS

 One is which a difference between two or more variables is anticipated by the researchers that is, the observed
pattern of the data is not due to a chance occurrence, the concept of the alternative hypothesis is a central part of
formal hypothesis testing.

 The null hypothesis is that the researchers prediction is not true the alternative hypothesis is that the researchers
predicted difference is true, so the two sample t test gives us a way to decide between a null hypothesis and an
alternative hypothesis.

QUESTIONS/INSTRUCTIONS ANSWERS
1. What is review of Research? A research hypothesis is a specific, clear and
testable proposition or predictive statement about
the possible outcome of a scientific research study
based on a particular property of a population,
such as presumed differences between groups on a
particular variable or relationships between
variables.
2. What is null hypothesis? Null hypothesis testing is a formal approach to
deciding between two interpretations of a statistical
relationships in a sample. One interpretation is
called the Null Hypothesis.
3. What is Alternative Hypothesis? An Alternative Hypothesis is one which a
difference between two or more variables is
anticipated by the researchers that is, the observed
pattern of the data is not due to a chance
occurrence. The concept of the alternative
hypothesis is a central part of formal hypothesis
testing.

INDEPENDENT ACTIVITY 2

QUESTIONS/INSTRUCTION ANSWERS
1. What is Review of Related Literature? A detailed review of existing literature related to the
topic of a thesis or dissertation. In an RRL, you talk
about knowledge and findings from existing
literature relevant to your topic. When writing the
review, begin by providing the background and
purpose of the review.

2. What are the tips on citing and documenting a

literature?

3. What is conceptual framework? A conceptual framework is an analytical tool with

several variations and context. It is used to make
conceptual distinctions and organize ideas. Strong
conceptual frameworks capture something real and
do this in a way that is easy to remember and apply.

4. What is plagiarism? The unethical practice of using words or ideas

(either planned or accidental) od another
author/researcher or your own previous works
without proper acknowledgement.
