In today’s world we need to be ready for anything. In person or online instruction.

You will plan a 15-20 minute virtual lesson.


● Welcome your students online
● Teach material
● Do an activity
● Share what you would have them work on independently
● Have a closing for the lesson

Topic: The water cycle and erosion
Grade Level: 3rd
Standards:4-ESS2-1. Make observations and/or measurements to provide evidence of the effects
of weathering or the rate of erosion by water, ice, wind, or vegetation.
Success Criteria/Objectives:
● I can define erosion, weathering, and disposition and their definitions.

Time: 15-20 minutes


Welcome and Introduction Today we will be learning about the water cycle and erosion.
(Synchronous)
Read I can statement and get into the information - make sure they
know that this is what they will know at the end of the lesson.

Lesson/Activity Doing the slides, I will read through and build on various things from
(Synchronous) each slide
● Covering the difference between commonly known erosion and
its close counterparts
● Let them know they can ask questions
● Give examples while giving them the information so they have
something to connect it to if possible!

Active Exploration and Introducing the quizizz. I will put the link down or tell them to open a
Application new tab and give them the code.
(Asynchronous - Independent) ● Do quizizz and talk about questions that majority got wrong or
review shortly after each answer
● They can also ask questions during the quizizz, but stay on the
call so they can review after.

Closing/Reflection Now that we've finished our quizizz, lets review- depending on time.

Questions to answer – Be specific and give examples of what you would do or what you would use

How would you engage students I wouldn’t just give a lesson and homework, I would make the lesson
online? fun and have games and activities during it. Sometimes homework is
okay, but doing it together as a class is more engaging and keeps
students' lives stress free while they aren’t in a working environment.
How would you handle Making sure the students have the ability to raise their hands during
classroom management online? the meetings and that they understand the importance of school and
continuing to complete the work. Trying to connect with them, even
while not in person is something that is important to me and I would
strive to do this to make students comfortable during online meets.
