Competition Rules and Guidelines

Coding Hero

ARTICLE I: Player Eligibility and Registration

A. Each team shall have at least one (1) and at most three (3) participants.

B. Teams having more than one (1) participant will compete individually.

C. Each team is recommended to register at least one (1) and at most two (2) participants as a
substitute player.

ARTICLE II: Competition Mechanics and Managers

A. Short Description - The player will be put into three rounds of coding each with varying
difficulty and goals until a champion is declared.

B. Java will be the programming language.

C. The competition shall use HackerRank.

D. The competition consists of three (3) rounds, each round having its own goal.

E. The player who survives all three rounds will be declared as the champion.

F. Round 1: The Most Code - The following mechanics are as follows:


a. All players will be given the same ten (10) set of problems.
b. The goal is to provide the source code to all ten sets of problems.
c. Players will be given two (2) hours to complete the set.
d. When the time is up, all players will be given a thirty minute (30) break for the
checking of the code.
e. The player who has the most solutions to the set of problems will proceed to the
next round.

G. Round 2: Debug The Code - The following mechanics are as follows:


a. All players will be given one (1) same source code.
b. The goal is to fix the source code based on the problem given.
c. Players will be given two (2) hours to fix the code.
d. When the time is up, all players will be given a thirty minutes (30) break for the
checking of the code.
e. The player who fixes the code completely will proceed to the next round.

H. Round 3: Provide The Solution - The following mechanics are as follows:


a. All players will be given one (1) same problem.
b. The goal is to provide the source code for the given problem
c. Players will be given two (2) hours and thirty (30) minutes to provide the code.
d. When the time is up, all players shall wait for thirty (30) minutes for the checking of
the code.

e. The player who provides the most efficient solution will be declared as the
champion.

I. The ranking point is twenty-five (25) points.
