Bill of Quantities (BOQ)
1. It is a statement of the various items of work giving the description, quantities
and units of rates.

2. Prepared in a tabular form similar to ‘abstract of quantities’ , but the rate and
amount columns are left blank.

3. Primarily meant for inviting tender, supplied to the contractor to fill up the
rates and amounts columns.

4. On receipt of the tenders the rates and amounts are compared and the
decision to award the contract is made.
