As guests at Ireland's Institute for Pastoral Liturgy in Carlow, the choir spent an entire day learning new songs from that country — songs that would shape their own repertoire for years to come. This rish tune isa perfect piece for gathering or deparcure wih its bright, dance-like tempo, the festive interludes for flute and violin, and the simplicity of its melody line. At Neere Dame, it was first used as the opening hymn for the Mass on the Feast of Saint Patrick but its lyrical, confident spirit has carried it beyond special feast days and into the Suncdeys of Ordinary Time, The textcelebrates Christ's presence all around (The Loria of Sains Patrick), a theme that knows no season. 4 CHRIST BE NEAR AT EITHER HAND.
