■ What were the best and worst parts of the Senior Project/Senior Seminar?

I thought the best part of my senior project was really just working with a new
program and learning about some career opportunities with Autocad. The worst part
however was trying to scale images because I rarely had to do it so I didn’t quite get
the hang of it.

■ List three things you now know after completing your Senior Project.

Some things I know now include

● What drainage is and how they do it

● How to design a subsurface drainage system
● Some basic autocad skills

■ Which aspect of the Senior Project/Senior Seminar stretched you the most? How did you feel
about and react to this challenge?

The aspect that was most challenging was probably the presentation in front of small
groups because I can only present if I feel distanced from the people and as if they’re
far away from me so it’s more like a crowd instead of individual people.

■ How has the Senior Project/Senior Seminar changed you (skills, attitudes, work habits,
capabilities, confidence, poise, presentation, etc.)?

I’ve developed an interest in engineering and I could also put basic Autocad
experience/skills on a resume. It didn’t really change me too much but now I have
somewhat of an idea of things I like doing

■ Has this experience influenced your future plans?

I used to be set on I’m not going to college and I was gonna pick up some trade jobs
that doesn’t need college but now I’m considering becoming an engineer because
from research I’ve done it turns out that engineers use Autocad and platforms like it to
design things

■ What would you do differently if you had to do the whole Senior Project/Senior Seminar process
again?

If I had to do the senior project over again I would try to do the whole process of the
operation including: Field work, surveying/locating, drawing up estimates, and
performing a sale
■ What advice do you have for next year’s seniors?

The advice I have is to take a moment to breathe because as a senior you’ve got a big
reality shift coming up and you’re not always gonna be prepared for it. I know It’s my
fault for not having even the slightest plan until January but even then it’s still easy to
get overwhelmed with life. So basically have a plan and if you start stressing about
life take a moment to breathe before doing anything because it’ll help clear your head
before doing anything.

■ What grade would you give yourself for your Senior Project and what justification do you have
for that grade?

I’d give myself an A- because I’ve been procrastinating on it and I also needed help
setting up the fields in terms of scaling them a few too many times
