adopted a resolution for the
Non-Cooperation Movement under
the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi.
Madras- 1927

During this session young leaders


like Jawaharlal Nehru had proposed
the resolution for complete
independence which was however
defeated and the action of
Jawaharlal was not appreciated by
Gandhi.

NATIONAL MOVEMENT
Champaran (Bihar)

In 1916 Gandhiji travelled to Champaran


in Bihar to inspire the peasants to
struggle against the oppressive
plantation system.
Kheda (Gujarat)
In 1917, Gandhiji organised a satyagraha to
support the peasants of the Kheda district,
who were suffering from shortage of food
due to crop failure and a plague epidemic.
Ahmedabad

In 1918, Mahatma Gandhi went to


Ahmedabad to organise a satyagraha
movement amongst cotton mill
workers.
Amritsar
13 April, 1919- Jallianwala Bagh Massacre
took place.

Crowd gathered on the ground was


unaware of the martial law.

General Dyer ordered to open fire on the


crowd, thus, killing hundreds.
Chauri-Chaura
At Chauri Chaura in Gorakhpur, a
peaceful demonstration in a bazaar
turned into a violent clash with the
police.

The incident forced Mahatma Gandhi to


put a halt on NCM.
Dandi (Gujarat)

On 6 April- Gandhiji reached Dandi, and


ceremonially violated the SALT law,
manufacturing salt by boiling sea water.

This marked the beginning of the CDM.

Namrup
Namrup Thermal Power Plant is
located 12 km from Namrup, which
is situated in Dibrugarh District,
Assam, India.
Singrauli
Singrauli Super Thermal Power Plant is
located at Shaktinagar in Sonebhadra
district in Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The
power plant is the first power plant of
National Thermal Power Corporation Limited
(NTPC).

NTPC Ramagundam, a part of National Thermal


Power Corporation, is a 2,600 megawatt Power
station situated at Ramagundam in Peddapalli
district in Telangana, India. It is the current largest
power station in South India.

Narora
Narora Atomic Power plant is located in
Narora, Bulandshahr District in Uttar
pradesh. It is a nuclear power plant
which has two reactors.

Tarapur Atomic Power Station (T.A.P.S.)


is located in Tarapur, Palghar, India. It
was the first commercial nuclear
power station built in India.
Kakrapara

Kakrapara Atomic Power Station is a


nuclear power station in India,
which lies in the proximity of Surat
and Tapi river in the state of
Gujarat.
Kalpakkam
Madras Atomic Power Station located at
Kalpakkam about 80 kilometres south of
Chennai, India, is a comprehensive nuclear
power production, fuel reprocessing, and waste
treatment facility that includes plutonium fuel
fabrication for fast breeder reactors.

Bokaro

Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) is located in


the Bokaro district of Jharkhand.

It is the fourth integrated public


sector steel plant in India built with
Soviet help.
Durgapur

It is one of the integrated steel plants


of SAIL, in the eastern Indian state of
West Bengal.

It was set up with the help of United


Kingdom.
Bhilai

It is located in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh,


and is India's first and main producer
of steel rails, as well as a major
producer of wide steel plates and
other steel products.
Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur was the first industrial


city in India, and almost the entire
town works in the steel industry.
Vijayanagar

The Jindal Vijayanagar Steel plant is


located in the iron ore belt of North

land.

Salem Steel Plant (SSP), a unit of SAIL,
