Open Ended Design Project
Due April 14. 2023 (hardcopy to be submitted on the final exam)

Your task is to design a highway sign 2.0 m X 1.2 m to be supported by a hollow circular pipe as
shown below. The sign is expected to survive wind gusts of 100 km/hr which are not uncommon
in a hurricane condition.

You have a full control of the material selection, cross section type and the ends mounting
configuration. The final design must be verified with the CATIA program. As in any design
project, this is an open ended problem in which you have to make the appropriate assumptions.
In your formal project report, all the assumptions must be stated clearly.
