Arduino – a prototype platform (open-source)

based on an easy to use hardware.
- Consists of a circuit board which
can be programmed known as
microcontroller.
- Born at the IVREA Interaction
Design Institute, an easy tool for
prototyping.
Arduino IDE - (Arduino Integrated Development
Environment)
- Used to write and upload the
computer code to the physical
board.
KEY FEATURES OF ARDUINO:
 able to read analog and digital input
signals from different sensors
 you can use usb cable instead of an
extra piece of hardware
 uses a simplified version of c++, making
it easier to learn the program
PROS:
 Inexpensive
 Cross-platform
 Simple, clear programming
environment
 Open source and extensible software
 Open source and extensible hardware
Board Types
- They are programmed through
