Email: full email address – make sure it’s a sensible one

Professional profile
This section is where you need to tell the employer about what you are like as a worker including
things such as:
 Experiences and skills you have gained
 How you can transfer them into the role you are applying for.
 Mention why it is that you have applied for an apprenticeship
 What has interested you in it
What you feel you can bring to the role

Career summary
This is where you list each any jobs or work experiences you may have had, going from your
latest job to your first. Be sure you include:
 Plenty of details on all your duties and responsibilities that you had
 Explain what you had to do for them and why
 Give examples
 Update regularly whenever you get a new role or any new responsibilities.

This section should be laid out as followed:

Dates to and from – JOB TITLE (most recent title if multiple), company name
Go into detail here on what your role involved, what duties and responsibilities you had and what
you had to do for each of them. Be sure to say why each of them had to be done.

Education
School/ College, Qualification level, In this section list all qualifications gained during your education, from
Years attended high school upwards starting with your highest qualification. Be sure to
include any qualifications you have gained through previous employmen
as well.
Personal details

Key I.T. Skills: MS Office, email and internet applications


Other: Driver; full clean licence
Interests: Rock climbing, food festivals, gym, boxing

Using the examples above be sure to include any other skills that you feel would be beneficia
to the role you have applied for, for example if you were applying for an administrative role,
time keeping and management are both very important. The interests section is a chance to
the employer more about who you are and what you like.

References are available on request


References tend to be available on request – make sure you have a couple of previous
employers you can ask.
You mustn’t include your date of birth on your professional CV; this is because the document can
be used to commit identify theft / fraud if it is on there. As such, employers don’t expect to see it
so will request it if needed.
