This week’s meetings started on Monday afternoon.

We began with our staff meeting in which

we gave group updates. On Wednesday of this week is the beginning of March, Women’s

History Month, so there are several events coming up this month. We also had a training session

on Kognito about how to help someone who could possibly be suicidal. This was really helpful

because it gave examples of what you should say and what you should not say. Some of the

things that were listed as things you should not say did not seem that bad, but it put them into

perspective as to how they could be not helpful. After the meeting, I had a meeting with my

wellness group in which we discussed some possible events for Women’s History Month. We

discussed doing a sip and paint where participants could paint a picture of a women who has

inspired them. We also discussed a social media campaign in which users can send in

anonymous responses of a women who has made them feel empowered and we will recognize

them on our Instagram page. I made a mock Google form that will be used for this and shared it

with the team.

Tuesday was a pretty slow day in which I just worked on some possible Instagram posts for

Women’s History Month. On Wednesday we had a meeting with our social media team and two

others who came from the Cultural Center. We discussed the ways in which we plan on

advertising for the Women’s Conference which is at the end of March. Meg and I were assigned

to do speaker spotlights. We will create a post for each speaker that will include a photo of them

and a short blurb about the topic they are speaking on.

On Thursday, I went around campus and refilled the menstruation stations. I have really loved

being able to do this because it is a time for me to explore campus and step out of the office for a

bit, while still being helpful. I have had a few girls in the bathroom see what I am doing and

thank me, which makes what I am doing feel important and impactful.
Finally, on Friday, I met with my She Speaks group. The event is happening this upcoming week

and I am so excited. We discussed the finishing touches that need to be completed before

Wednesday. I am responsible for making a sign in sheet for attendees, in addition to writing a

little speech about each speaker which will be read before they begin. I am really looking

forward to this event and the upcoming Women’s History Month events, as this is something I

am very passionate about.
