MSCA Keys
Various functions that control navigation, provide information, and perform certain
actions may be mapped to Control A through Control Z and F1 through F4 using the
default_key.ini file. See the MSCA Server Configuration and Administration Guide for
how to perform this mapping. With the understanding that the keys maybe different on
a given device and that keys can be customized according to the MSCA Server
Configuration and Administration Guide, the following is a basic overview of the keys,
the basic mapping and a description. Also see a review of the short-cut keys in the
Mobile Supply Chain User's guide: The Oracle Mobile Supply Chain Applications User's
Guide shares various short-cut keys. See the section "Function Key and Action Button
Mappings".
According to the WMS User's Guide, navigation in MSCA and WMS is specific to the
user's specific keyboard and mobile device. See pages B-3 and B-4 in the user's guide
for this explanation. Here is a snippet:
From WMS Users Guide 11i > 115WMSUG.pdf, Page B-3 and B-4 discuss navigation:
How to Navigate the MSCAs Telnet Interface
Navigating MSCA requires that you use a variety of keys on your keyboard. The
following figure provides the basic navigation commands for using MSCAs in a telnet
session. Note: Navigation for different hand-held devices might deviate from the telnet
navigation described in this section. Check the specific mobile device instructions about
how to navigate vendor devices.
LIMITATIONS
There are limitations to the shortcut keys especially around F3 and F4. These function
keys are designed to work in very specific scenarios and do not allow back and forth
navigation everywhere. For example, one cannot go back to the first line of a Purchase
Order (PO) while entering the second line. This limitation was documented in
Enhancement Request Bug.3595306.
Here is a list of the most common shortcut/function keys and their meanings.
Action: Help
Default Key: F1
Description: Display the keys that functions have been mapped to. This screen can be
exited by pressing the key mapped to the Back function.
Action: Menu
Default Key: F2

been committed.
Action: Back
Default Key: F3
Description: Used to navigate to previous page displayed within a transaction. This key
will also exit out of the Help Menu or a list of values.
** The functionality of this key is mobile transaction form dependent. Some forms may
use the F3 key to go back. However, this may not be available in all forms.
Action: Forward
Default Key: F4
Description: Used to navigate to next page of display within a transaction. The same
caveats pertain to Next Page as Previous Page as noted in F3.
