Manos del Uruguay ALEGRIA GRANDE (75% superwash
merino, 25% polyamide; approx. 100g/197 yds), 1 sk MC .
Manos del Uruguay ALEGRIA GRANDE BOCADOS (75%
superwash merino, 25% polyamide; approx. 25g/49 yds), 1, 2,
or 3 in CCs.
2-Color Version: Shown in AG9995 Agave (MC) with AGB2363
Tahiti (CC)
3-Color Version: AG2121 Cinnamon (MC) with AGB2102
Juanita (CC1) and AGB2540 Kohl (CC2)
4-Color Version: AG5000 Cincuenta (MC) with AGB2600
Magenta (CC1), AGB2058 Turmeric (CC2), and AGB2394 Teal
(CC3).
For 2-color version, CO using two strands of MC . When work
meas 6”, cut one strand of MC and join CC .
For 3-color version, CO using 1 strand of MC and 1 strand of
CC1. When work meas 5”, cut CC1 and join CC2.
For 4-color version, CO using 1 strand of MC and 1 strand
of CC1. When work measures 3½”, cut CC1 and join CC2.
When work meas 8”, cut CC2 and join CC3.
INSTRUCTIONS
With circular ndl and holding 2 strands of yarn together, cast
on 60 sts. Join, being careful not to twist sts, and pm to show
beginning of rnd.
Rnd 1: *P1, k1; rep from * to end of rnd.
Rep Rnd 1 until work meas 8½”.

US 10/6mm needle, 16” circular and dpn, or size to obtain Shape top
gauge Change to dpn when necessar y.
stitch marker Rnd 1: *(P1, k1) 4 times, k2tog; rep from * to end of rnd –
54 sts.
GAUGE Rnds 2, 4, and 6: Work sts as they appear.
16 sts = 4” with two strands of yarn held together over 1x1 Rnd 3: *(P1, k1) 3 times, p1, k2tog; rep from * to end of rnd
Rib, relaxed; 10 sts = 4” over 1x1 Rib, comfor tably stretched – 48 sts.
Rnd 5: *(P1, k1) 3 times, k2tog; rep from * to end of rnd –
NOTE 42 sts.
Yarn is held doubled throughout. Rnd 7: *(P1, k1) twice, p1, k2tog; rep from * to end of rnd –
36 sts.
