X. COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is designed to assist law students in acquiring a general knowledge


of the rules and principles on conflict of laws dealing with the conduct of states
and international organizations, between and among themselves, as well as
their relations with persons, both natural and juridical.

XI. COURSE AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the term, the students are expected to have the working know-
how of the basic rules, principles and policies provided for under existing
Philippine laws as well as the provisions of relevant international covenants,
treaties and executive agreements. Specifically, the course syllabus is designed
and planned in such a way as to enable the students to:

1. Understand the basic legal and constitutional concepts that


underpin Conflict of Laws;
2. Appreciate the rules and principles on conflict of laws;
3. Learn and apply legal remedies available for conflict of law cases;
and
4. Appreciate the linkage between national laws and international laws.
