as record their spatial awareness by taking pictures during
the activity.

I will create a bar graph to show the increase of movement
vocabulary that was developed through the lesson. Both
pre and post assessment will have a bar graph, so there
will be a visual to show the progress made after the lesson
has been implemented.

Procedural steps:
1. Start the lesson by gathering the students during
group time. Once students are sitting safely and
quietly, ask the group “How do animals move?” Call
on students one at a time and record their answers
on a sheet of poster paper.
2. After the pre-assessment has been administered,
call on 5-6 students to stay back with you to
participate in the movement activity. All other
students can go work at other centers/tables.
3. Review with the students in your small group how
we briefly discussed how animals move and
introduce the video.
4. Before starting the video, have students stand up
and space out. Remind students to keep
themselves and their friends safe by respecting our
space. In addition, offer up the phrase “Keep me
safe” as a prompt for students if their friends get too
close/invade their space in a potentially hazardous
way.
