SLACK

An Introduction to Slack, A Popular Chat App for Teams and Workplaces

( J.J. Meddaugh, 2019)

Slack is a messaging app for business that connects people to the information they need. Slack
changes how businesses communicate by connecting employees to work as a single connected
team.
You may transfer files and messages at work using the chat app Slack. This indicates that Slack is
a messaging app. These add-ons are not required to utilize Slack because team communication is
its main purpose. The chat window is where all actual communication takes place. Slack is used
by teams that create workspaces that house all of their channels, users, and messages. Like other
chat systems, each user may choose a username, send public or private messages, and browse or
search previously transmitted messages. Any message reply may be read, emoji reactions can be
used, gifs can be uploaded, RSS feeds can be seen, reminders can be set up, add-on notifications
can be used, and many more bells and whistles can be used. But most importantly, this is where
you make new friends. Slack may improve team communication by combining instant messaging,
email, and text messaging into one program. No matter where they are—in the field office, at
home, or out door-to-door—your team can communicate and organize their work with Slack's
desktop and mobile versions.

FLOCK
Flock, an enterprise communication and collaboration app
(Naina Khedekar, 2016)

Flock is a well-known team messaging tool and online collaboration platform that combines
project management, team chat, and other fantastic features into one piece of software. It
efficiently arranges all of your communications and tools in one location so that you can
concentrate on what is most important. To put it another way, it is practical, real-time, and
facilitates seamless communication.
With its process automation features and connectivity with third-party apps, Flock is intended to
boost productivity in addition to uniting teams and giving them a reliable virtual workplace. Flock
also includes dedicated desktop applications for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chrome OS, as well
as a mobile application for Android and iOS devices, making it more accessible to consumers.
One of the essential requirements for firms going online has been moving employee
communication to an online platform. Flock (web, Android, iOS), a product by Directed, is a
collaboration and communication tool that competes with Slack, Hangouts, Skype, and maybe
WhatsApp. It functions as a communication and collaboration tool for businesses.

WORKZONE
Workzone software
(Delos santos, 2019)

Workzone is a user-friendly system that combines essential project management functionality with
reporting and collaboration tools for teams of all sizes. Project teams, marketers, IT professionals,
and other business users may use it to visually manage and track every part of their project, from
timetables and requirements to document versions and approvals. For the team, its clients, and
partners, Workzone is also flexible and secure.
Workzone project management software offers a wide range of capabilities to give teams the most
recent data and graphics on the status of each project. The Project Dashboard offers a broad
overview summary view of projects across departments, customers, or campaigns. The To-Do List,
which is automatically generated and sent to each user, completes the dashboard by offering a
more granular look at daily tasks. Users' individual tasks are automatically updated as needed, and
so is the project plan.
Users of Workzone can alter the interface's colors and logos to better represent their own or their
clients' brands. For each client or business partner, users can construct a private portal or websites.
The project management tool restricts access by project, folder, or document in addition to using
256-bit SSL encryption for security. Restricted information will not be seen to unauthorized users.
Secure servers periodically review data backups for backup purposes.

How can software assist in project communications?

Slack allows you to arrange teams and projects by channel, which improves the effectiveness of
hybrid collaboration. By sharing tasks and milestones within the channel, team members are
always on the same page and have access to information regardless of their physical location.
Additionally, it offers colleagues more immediate opportunities to communicate and participate in
a feeling of community.
A well-liked team communication tool called Flock combines a variety of capabilities, such as file
sharing, conference calling, chat, and project management. It is employed in a variety of sectors
and divisions, including marketing, engineering, and human resources. Flock could be the answer
if you're seeking for a single platform where your entire team can collaborate.
Projects should be organized into tasks (and subtasks), with responsibility and due dates assigned.
Connect tasks to show how a change in one area impacts the project. Work zone automatically
notifies project managers when jobs are overdue and enables them quickly recognize work that
require urgent attention.
How can software affect project communications negatively?
As a whole, they all negatively influence project communication. Since this is software, we can't
prevent them from having an impact on projects like software bugs, which may originate via the
internet or bugs in widely used software. An employee who participates in a channel receives alerts
for any activity that takes place inside that channel. When attempting to work, this is somewhat
disruptive. There has the potential to be an important distraction as well. While individual talks in
particular help employees build relationships at work, they can also take up time and prevent
workers from working as hard.
Which software product seems to be the most effective among the three? Explain

Slack, in my opinion, is the best of the three software’s. In order to facilitate projects, Slack offers
chat features, file and media sharing, voice and video chatting, project planning, and the ability to
connect tools and add-ons. Working using Slack is simpler and more structured. Slack enables you
to work in channels, which are flexible spaces for all the people, tools, and files you'll need to
complete your job. This eliminates the need for endless email chains. Slack is a platform for
communication, and it excels at making it as simple as possible. But that's not what makes Slack
special. Users of Slack have the option to incorporate Slack into their regular workstation.
