PRANAY RAJ

Elevator Pitch:

My name is Pranay Raj, Im from Hyderabad, currently pursuing my MBA from Masters Union School
of business. I worked as a scientist at the Indian Space Research organisation for around 5 years. I
worked in the manufacturing department for 3 and a half years where I was leading a rocket
manufacturing team of 9 people in the manufacture of test rockets, I headed critical augmentation
projects worth over 12 Cr spanning civil structures, mechanical systems and electrical systems that
improved the manufacturing rate of rockets by focusing on safety, automation and effective utilisation
of resources. For another one and a half years, I was working on research and development projects
for the development of India’s semi-cryogenic engine. I was responsible for ensuring the quality of 4
developmental components. At the same time, I was involved in managing the development of online
software that streamlined the quality audit and control activities for various metals that go into the
production of rockets. I Graduated from BITS-Pilani with degrees in mechanical engineering and a
master's in mathematics. I like to play sports and read in my free time.

Highlight of the week:

1. Listened to some good podcasts that were suggested by our mentor on first principles
thinking.
2. Practiced LBS consulting cases which were much more complex and lengthier than traditional
Indian ones.
3. Wrote down answers for 30+ behaviour prep questions for interviews.
4. Modifed resume to make it better for a consulting shortlist.
5. Started practicing cases in group.
6. Discussed 4 good quality guesstimates with friends.

Lowlights of the week:

1. Was not able to see the video lectures shared by karan.

2. Got consistent feedback about lack of critical thinking during the case interviews.
3. Guesstimate structures I was making were pedantic and too simple to accommodate various
possibilities.
4. Was unable to make good structured notes during guesstimates and case interviews. They
look a little scattered and all over the place.
