 Stall areas must be always kept clean and tidy, and all goods and equipment must be within the
allocated stall area. The event management team may ask you to move if you exceed your allocated
site
 If you have a trailer please factor in access requirements, tow bars etc, as you are limited to your
allocated space. This year we will again be taking note of the exact dimensions you have provided and
will be checking this on the day.
 There may be limited space behind your stall to store equipment and products, however this must be
negotiated with neighbouring stallholders – do not take extra space for granted
 Stalls must be staffed at all times while operational – no children are to be left unattended at a stall
 Business food stallholders must have a current Food Health Certificate on display throughout the
festival
 All stalls running as a community group without a current Food Health Certificate will be subject to an
inspection by an Environmental Health Officer on event day. Stallholders not complying with
Environmental Health regulations will be charged an additional fee and must stop serving at the
Festival
 Stallholders must not on-sell or share their stall with any person, group or organisation unless
previously arranged with the event organisers
 Stallholders must take all reasonable steps to ensure their site is safe and they must notify the festival
team of any potential hazards or concerns
 Stallholders are responsible for separating their rubbish into compostable and recyclable and should
have minimal landfill rubbish at the end of the day. Stall holders will endeavour to reduce the amount
of waste to landfill. Stallholders are welcome to use our bins at the end of the day but they MUST be
sorted into these bins and anyone with landfill rubbish will be questioned.
 Stallholders selling or playing music must be considerate of other stallholders by controlling volume
levels – event organisers will intervene if necessary and may result in music being banned
 All stallholders shall maintain proper standards of conduct and concern for others and shall avoid any
activity that may bring the AICF event into disrepute
 Conflict and aggressive behaviour will result in those responsible being asked to leave the festival
immediately
 Hawkers, street sellers, buskers or product give-aways are not permitted at CultureFest unless they
have been allocated and paid for a stall site through the stall application process. Illegal vendors and
product promotions will be removed from the festival
 Please note; the site map for 2023 is yet to be confirmed – the plan, along with your site number, will
be included in your confirmation pack. This will be distributed by Wednesday 15 March 2023.

by-law. For details of these, please contact council Environmental Health Officers on (09) 379 2022

Zero Waste Event - Guidelines for store holder and vendors.

The event you are selling at is a Zero Waste Event. Zero waste is a way of using and throwing
away less. This means that you will need to supply compostable packaging for the food and drink
that you sell.

To help you use the right sort of packaging this guide shows what compostable packaging is and
lists some suppliers of compostable packaging in Auckland.

If the packaging doesn’t clearly state that it is compostable to a standard, then best to steer clear.
Getting it right is important: Sending the wrong products to the composting facility will contaminate
their end product. If there is too much non compostable material in a load this could lead to the
entire truckload of product getting taken to landfill and the event may receive a fine from the
service provider, as well as paying for the whole load to go to landfill.

The list below will help give you an idea of what is out there that you could use. Compostable
products don’t always cost more, and you can even save money by using less or simpler
packaging such as paper napkins, or bags instead of boxes. The range of available products are
growing and changing all the time, so be sure to check out the suppliers.

Note: The products shown here are for information purposes only, and no endorsement of any of
the products or suppliers by Auckland Council is implied or expressed.
