    I have read some articles that kaliwa dam should stop because the said project is against so many

    laws
    that considered illegal. Aside from building this project will affect the dinagat indigenous people, the
    other problem that I see here is environmental damages. We all know that nature is a big help to reduce
    a lot of possible damage that a typhoon can bring. Even the wildlife will be affected if the project will
    push by the government without proper plan.

    If I were the president of the Philippines, my win-win solution will be:

     Consult from the experts such as environmentalist, human right council, etc. It is important to
    know what the advantages and disadvantages of this project are. As what is being stated above,
    it can cause a lot of damage in our nature. And for the human rights council, we all know that
    indigenous people are experiencing discrimination in a lot of aspects and the example is “Do you
    know why they’re pushing for Kaliwa Dam?” Joan Jaime of the Kalipunan ng mga Katutubong
    Mamamayan ng Pilipinas (Katribu), a coalition of indigenous groups, told Mongabay. “Because in
    that 2015 feasibility study, the communities in Kaliwa have the weakest opposition.” and to give
    them respect, I will leave the main discourse to the experts such as discussing the plan and the
    potential of the project.
     I will give the dinagat indigenous people a benefit such as job offers, and I will relocate them to
    safer place. I make sure the best offers and options will be given.

    My other option is if the Dumagat people does not accept my offer, then I will let my them live
    peacefully there and will not push the project. I know it will also a win-win situation for both sides
    because we must protect the nature and we all know what will happen if we force it to do so. And for
    me, water crisis can be solved in so many ways but not in this one. It can cause a lot of damage. Joan
    Jaime left a message for all of us “if we allow Kaliwa, what’s stopping the government from building the
    rest?”
