The best parts about my senior project were being able to run new equipment and to learn how to
operate the equipment. I also really enjoyed just being outside and learning more about the field of
agriculture drainage. The parts I disliked about my senior project were when it came to uploading
the tile maps into the system because I'm not very good with computers so I struggled a little bit
with that.
■ List three things you now know after completing your Senior Project.
1. I know how to locate tiles in fields.
2. I know how to upload and plan tile maps and through them into the system and files.
3. I know how to run a 306 Excavator and got trained on running bulldozers.
■ Which aspect of the Senior Project/Senior Seminar stretched you the most? How did you feel about and react to
this challenge?
The part of this project that stretched me the most was doing my Weebly, papers and presenting. I
reacted well, though, and still got all of my work done on time. The stretch within the project for me
was that I didn't know anything about surveying. I felt nervous at first, but then it kind of all came
naturally to me from my existing knowledge about tile and agriculture. I reacted very well to this
challenge and was able to really enjoy my project.
■ How has the Senior Project/Senior Seminar changed you (skills, attitudes, work habits, capabilities, confidence,
poise, presentation, etc.)?
This project has increased my confidence when it comes to field and agriculture, and I have more
knowledge.
■ What would you do differently if you had to do the whole Senior Project/Senior Seminar process again?
I wouldn't do anything differently. I say this because my project went very smoothly, and I really
enjoyed the whole experience and learning new things.
■ What grade would you give yourself for your Senior Project and what justification do you have for that grade?
I would give myself an A on this project because I spent a good amount of time on this project and
put myself in a position which I was not comfortable with. I did not know the guy who was my mentor
and I did not know anything about surveying. I put a lot of effort into learning about surveying, and I
did a lot of research about it outside of working on it.
