Beatrix Potter was born in 1866

in London. She wrote a lot of
children’s books about animals.

She had a brother called Bertram

and they kept rabbits, mice and
bats as pets. Beatrix also loved
worms and snails.

Beatrix had a pet rabbit called Peter Piper. She wrote a

story about him. The story was called ‘The Tale of Peter
Rabbit’.

Beatrix Potter lived in the Lake District in England. She had

a farm there called Hill Top and she kept lots of sheep there.

Beatrix died in 1943 aged 77. When she died she gave her
farm and sheep to the National Trust.
