Crail festival 2022
After two dormant years due to the Covid pandemic we are delighted that the Crail
Festival is back in 2022 in all its forms.

In its thirty-seventh year, Crail Festival still promotes the values established at inception.
It is fascinating to look through the archive and see a clear thread of community
involvement throughout. Thanks to the foresight of those early pioneers and to
generations of committee members, the festival has stood the test of time. True to the
original aims, we pride ourselves on being a community-based organisation, run for the
benefit of the community by members of the community.

If you take time to look through the brochure you will see a familiar mix. Savour classical
guitar, blues, jazz, folk, Shakespeare, a Night of Magic, our ever popular Street Market,
our excellent Arts Exhibition and much more with the superb Richard Digance to finish
off 10 days of great events for all tastes.

For kids, we offer art and craft workshops, golf skills and a host of other activities. The
family can enjoy a morning at the movies, archery, falconry, a sandcastle competition and
even a rock stacking competition.

The programme is testament to the efforts of a hardworking committee and the

encouragement of trustees. We thank our sponsors and friends for their financial support
and to local organisations for the use of their premises as venues.

Alan Ferguson
Chairman.

Thank you to Friends of the Festival for their generous donations

Alexandra Whiingham

Alexandra in her comparatively short career has brought youthful verve, vigour and enthusiasm
to the world of classical guitar. With an impeccable technique and a soft voice she is a most
creative musician. Her range of top musical awards is impressive; and she has already
accomplished what many guitar players might hope to achieve in an entire career.
In May 2021 Alexandra released her debut studio album My European Journey, which explores
the guitar’s great coming of age in nineteenth-century Europe. The album reached No.1 on the
iTunes Classical Chart as well as taking first place on The Presto Chart solely through pre-
orders before its release. My European Journey sees Alexandra's passion for nineteenth-
century music combine with a love of discovering lesser-known composers and bringing them
into the spotlight.
