What is meant by vocation? mission? Are these two terms related? Substantiate your
answer with an example?
• A vocation is a job that you must do and for which you are compensated or being
paid. A vocation or calling is distinctive to the individual and consists of their own
personal gifts, as well as the needs of the world. It is a vocation if you work
because you are needed for the service. While mission it is a service done with
passion and love. There is no need for recognition, and even if the pay is low
you still enjoy your job and continue doing it. Even it's hard you teach because
you love it. That is your mission, and you are completely dedicated to it.
• Yes, both terms are related because it is for someone who are really dedicated
not only to work but also to serve other people.
• For example a teacher we can consider them a vocation and also a mission
because of the dedication they provide different quality learning atmosphere to
their students, because some teacher they teach because they are paid for and
it's a call that they need to teach while another teacher spends most of his or her
time teaching inside and outside the four walls of the classroom even though
they didn't spend time together with his/her family an sacrifice their time and
called a mission. They are enjoying and loving to teach us even it's hard or
doesn't have a salary they are still their to teach because it's their mission.
