The story is about a man named Chris Gardner, who despite being poor and family problems such as
separation from his wife named Linda, continues to struggle to give a good life to his only family which is
his young son Christopher. Despite his attempts to keep the family afloat, Linda is unable to withstand
the economic pressure and decides to leave.
Chris continues to look for a better paying job. He gets an internship at a prestigious brokerage firm and,
despite not receiving any salary, accepts in the hope of finishing his studies with a job.
When things couldn’t get any worse, Chris loses his savings due to the tax debt he owed and is kicked
out of the apartment he rents. From one day to the next they are both on the street, going hungry and
cold, sleeping in shelters or public bathrooms,
But at the end of the film his efforts are rewarded because the company hires him as a stockbroker.

R/Cris’ life was very difficult, he had been investing in medical equipment that did not sell, his wife left
him and he was also evicted from his apartment and had to sleep in shelters or restrooms
Moreover, sometimes they had nothing to eat and could not find a job.
R/Chris’ most important motivation was his son, he had been fighting so that his son would not lack
anything and could be happy, despite the problems he was able to get ahead.
4- WHAT WERE SOME CHALLENGES THAT CHRIS FACED WHEN TRYING TO SELL HIS SCANNERS?
R/Chris had a lot of difficulty selling his scanners, he visited some doctors and they wouldn’t treat him,
others saw it as unnecessary, others had found it too expensive. In the end he managed to sell them all.

R/Chris was a determined man, he achieved his goals by believing in himself, he never gave up despite
the problems and he was very insistent, he focused on his goals in order to achieve them.

R/I probably would have gone to the interview because at the time I would have had no job and nothing
to lose. Like Chris, I would have tried to let them know about my experience despite my appearance.

If I had gone there full of paint, I would have told them that I work hard to get ahead.
R/Nothing is easy in this life, I would have to set goals and achieve them, grow as a person and
economically to be able to give a better quality of life to my family since they are my happiness.
If I achieved my goals, I could have a better life.
Because when we feel that we achieve our goals, we feel fulfilled and be able to of doing many more
things, so I would feel happier.
9- DO YOU KNOW SOMEBODY WHO GOT A SUCCESSFUL AS CHRIS?

R/If I know someone, a friend had set out to start a business, he started with little at home and after a
lot of effort and dedication he managed to get ahead, now he has a place where he can sell his products.

R/I think she was the wrong one, couples have to be in good times and bad, she should have believed in
Chris’s projects, helped him grow and believed that they would get ahead despite the problems.
