I. Methodology Objective

Ø To show the method of how the extracting, stocking and loading of armor rocks to
barge/ carrier, base on the specific location and port of origin.
Ø To be able to determine the ideal and maximum volume over time in metric tons.

II. Measure Use

Ø Capacity
Ø Time and motion

QUARRY SITE TO PORT OF LOADING

DISTANCE: 68 kilometers TRAVEL TIME: 52 Minutes

III. Factors

DELIVERY TO PORT/BARGE:

1) Dump trucks 10 Wheeler - 50 units

1 truck load. =. 31 metric tons (ideal)

50trucks. = 775 MT
No. Of Trips per day. =.5 trips
No. Of Truckloads per day. = 250 trkloads
Daily Volume delivered to port = 7,800 metric tons ( loaded to 2 barges )
Operation Time =. 15 hours

QUARRY OPERATION /PRODUCTION: (12 hrs )

1) Excavator. ( 6 units ). - For Extraction and Loading

1 bucket capacity = 1.50 mt. - 150 mt per hour per Backhoe

- 150 mt (x12hrs) = 1,800 mt per day
6 units backhoe - 10,800 MT per day
Daily Reserves ( stockpiled ). - 3,000 MT (as Contigency)

2) Wheel loaders (2 units) - For STOCKPILING

1 bucket capacity = 2.5 mt

5) GRAPPLER ( 2 units ) - Loading 4 trucks per hour per Grappler

OPERATION HOURS : 7a.m to 10 pm (10 Hours)

IV. Given Distance

Ø QUARRY site to Stocking Area = 50 meters

Ø Stocking Area to Barge/Carrier = 68 km
Ø Loading duration to Barge = 24 hours

V. Tools and Equipments

Ø Dump truck 10 wheelers = 30units

Ø Excavator = 4 units at quarry site
Ø Wheel Loader = 2 units +1 unit at loading port
Ø Grapple = 2 units + 1 unit at loading port
Ø Bulldozer = 1 unit

DELIVERY TO MOA (CIF)

Distance from San Juan Port to MOA PASAY - 131 nautical miles

Ø NO. Of BARGE (4 (5,000DWT); 4 (3,500dwt) = 8units
Ø Daily Load per Barge : 1(4,700 metric tons) and 1( 3,100 metric tons)
Ø No. Of Trips per barge per week : 2 trips (8 units) = 16
Ø Total Volume per week : 8 (4,700 metric tons) 8 (3,100 mt) = 62,400 mt
Ø Total volume per month : 249,600 metric tons

VI. Time

No. of days to complete the 249,600 metric tons : 28-30 days

Operation Time = 7a.m to 10p.m on regular days
