1 EXT. TOWN 1

We start by watching a man walking through town, his name

is Thomas Branson. He is dressed in a fancy attire, and
walks with pride. Although contrary to this, he is a very
timid man, whose whole personality is held together through
his wealth.

He is a very posh man, sophisticated even. He cares very

much for the finer things, and believes himself to be a man
of advanced taste.

The time is around midday, and we can see many people

walking around. Thomas looks rather out of place, as his
outfit is much more fancy than the other people occupying
the area. He enjoys this, however, as he likes being better
than others in any aspect. He has a blank expression on his
face showing no sign of emotion. We begin to hear his
internal voice:

THOMAS V/0
I work at Harrison and Co. making
roughly 326 thousand a year. To
most, I am the ideal person. To
others, I am a perfect businessman.
In reality, although I have the
shell of a man, a man I am not.
While others feel emotion, I feel
nothing. I live an existence filled
with nothing but the constant urge
of emptiness within me. I feel most
alive right before I awake in the
morning, before the void begins to
consume me. I wish for others to
feel the pain that only I do. It
seems to be the only release from
this sadistic world. Perhaps when I
die, I might finally feel something
except this feeling of rot. I may
seem like a man, but the truth is,
I am not.

We follow Thomas throughout his walk, displaying multiple

different angles around town, until we arrive at a cafe.

2 INT. CAFE 2
2.

Thomas enters the cafe. It is an old fashioned style cafe,

it has a certain level of class to it. As he enters the
building and notices a man at the end of the establishment.
As he gets closer, the man notices him.

The man's name was Walter Oswald, and he was a friend of

Thomas. He was everything Thomas believed himself to be,
richer, smarter and overall more looked up to by others.

He began to greet Thomas as he got closer:

WALTER
Ah, Thomas, glad you finally made
it, took your time.

THOMAS
I do apologize, some work came up.

Thomas pulls out a chair and sits down.

WALTER

No matter, how's the business

going, heard you've been on the
verge of that large deal for a
while now, how's that going.

THOMAS
(Confidentially)
As a matter of fact, that is
exactly what I was doing, and I
just sorted a deal for over 120k.

Walter stops and gasps slightly, whilst Thomas leans back

with a large grin on his face

THOMAS
Decided to get these as a sort of,
celebration.

Thomas begins to show of his new suit, leaning forward,

trying to show its smaller details.

WALTER
Ah yes, noticed it when you first
came in, its very nice, like the
material.

THOMAS
Made from the fur of a Vicuna,
their similar to llama's and native
to South America.
3.

WALTER
Very nice.

THOMAS
I'll tell you something, it was not
cheap.

Walter goes to feel the card, however Thomas is unhappy

about this. He swiftly grabs the card, and pulls it back
towards him. He has a slightly annoyed look on his face.
Walter seems to be slightly taken back by this, but
recovers quickly.

WALTER
Anyways, that reminds me, I just
closed a deal myself, 263 thousand.
Me and some of my friends are going
out tonight to celebrate. I knew
youre not the fondest of those
types of events, so I didn't think
to invite you.

Thomas has an expression showing visible anger and shame

that he's been beaten.

He begins to slightly gasp, as if trying to form a sentence

whilst in panic. He stutters slightly, as he is trying to
form a coherent sentence.

Walter begins to look at his phone, as if he has got a

notification. He starts to get up, and starts talking,
cutting Thomas off, just when he was about to reply.

WALTER
Ah, I must get going, got a few
people I need to call before
wrapping up for the day.

Before Thomas can reply again, Walter begins to walk away.

He stops by Thomas's side and begins to think.

WALTER
Oh..., just remembered, there's a
few things I need to talk to you
about, umm, how about I come around
to yours, this Thursday.

Thomas replies in a somewhat dazed and croaky voice.

THOMAS
uh, y-yeah, that sounds good
4.

Walter then pats Thomas on the shoulder, before walking

off. As we focus on just Thomas, his face slowly turns to
pain and anger.

THOMAS V/0
That bastard, that piece of shit
thinks he's better than me, I cant
believe it, I WONT BELIVE IT!

The v/o becomes increasingly louder, before becoming

inaudible.

We then jump to a dark room, filled with ominous lighting.

We see Thomas sitting in this room, with messed hair, and a
loosened tie. He is blankly staring at the ground.

A sound of static is looming in the background. It slowly

gets louder and louder, until the scene ends.

3 INT. THOMAS'S HOUSE 3

We are at Thomas's house. It is fairly neat, with

everything being in order. He is cleaning his hair, and
doing several other tasks to clean himself up.

We then see him down stairs, neatly arranging everything.

He leans over, noticing a glass is not on a coaster. In
response to this, he places it on a coaster, and cleans the
area that it was previously placed.

We then hear a knock on the door. Before going to answer

it, he lean over to music player, and begins to put on some
music. It begins to play Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven.

We cut to Thomas at the door. He opens it and we see Walter

standing outside. They greet each other, before Walter
enters the home.

They enter the living room. In The centre of view, there is

a large couch, which they both sit down on. The both have
drinks in their hands.

WALTER

Glad to finally be able to catch up

you, how are things, been up to
anything?

Thomas pours Walters drink, who takes a sip, before placing

it back down, not on the coaster. We see Thomas staring at
this, with visible disgust in his face.
5.

THOMAS
Nothing in particular...no.

WALTER
Ah, just remembered, the deal is
mentioned to you a few days ago,
turns out the company would like to
do further business. It may be more
beneficial than I had previously
thought.

Walter begins to chuckle to himself, before having a drink

of their beverage. Thomas gets up in visible annoyance. He
then begins to calm, as he is enjoying the music.

THOMAS
Now this is real music. You know
this song was created by Beethoven
all the way back 1801 for a student
he fell in love with, in fact...

He is rudely cutoff by Walter.

WALTER
Never cared for that classical
rubbish, seems like something you
would like though.

Thomas sharply turns around, and speaks to Walter in clear

annoyance.

THOMAS
Why are you here, Walter. You said
you had some important news that
needed to be shared?

Walter seems a little thrown off by Thomas's anger,

although finds it quite amusing.

WALTER
Truth be told, Timothy at your firm
told me to talk to you about that
deal you did. He seems a little
concerned that you may...damage the
deal. I told him to relax, but he
seemed quite persistent. Don't get
me wrong, I don't think he was
insulting you, it's just that, you
know, it's quite a large deal.

Thomas's face goes completely blank, showing no visible

reaction to this, he then says, in a calm manner.
6.

THOMAS
I see.....You want me to get you
another drink.

Walter replies, sounding relieved.

WALTER
ah yes, that sounds great.

Thomas grabs Walters glass, whilst walking out of the room.

We stay on Walter as he sits in the room on his own. He
pulls out his phone, and begins to start typing.

We cut to the door being out of frame, with focus still on

Walter. Suddenly we hear Thomas has returned at starts to
talk.

THOMAS
Walter?

Walter looks up, to see Thomas swinging a bat towards his

head. It has a direct impact, knocking Walter to the floor.

WALTER
AH WHAT THE FUCK, THOMAS STOP, NO,
AGHH...

We then cut to an upwards shot of just Thomas, who begins

to repeatedly smack his bat into Walter, slowly getting
faster, as he becomes angrier and angrier.

THOMAS
HOWS YOUR FUCKING 263 THOUSAND DEAL
NOW YOU PIECE OF SHIT. YOU THINK
YOUR FUCKING BETTER THAN ME, I'LL
KILL YOU. NO ONES BETTER THAN ME.
I'M BETTER THAN YOU, AND THAT PIECE
OF SHIT TIMOTHY.

This is followed by a series of blank grunts and yelling,

ending in psychotic laughter.

We then cut to a dark room, where Thomas is screaming and

yelling in pure anger.

We then see a repeat of Thomas routine that was previously

shown, although this time he is slightly shaky and covered
in blood.

We see a shot of him cleaning up the living room again, and

dragging Walters body away.
7.

4 INT. OFFICE 4

We cut to the next day. Thomas is enter a building via a

sliding door. The building appears very professional and
sophisticated on the inside.

As Thomas is walking through, a woman greets him from the

side. He has noticeable annoyance in his tone of voice.

RECEPTIONIST
Morning mr Branson.

THOMAS
Hello Francesca.

FRANCESCA
How was your night with Mr Oswald.

Thomas briefly pauses for a moment.

THOMAS
It was... fine, it was fine, you
know, I would preferrer it if you
were to keep out of my personal
life Francesca.

FRANCESCA
Oh, im, i'm really sorry mr Oswald,
I didn't-

THOMAS
(Cutting Francesca off)
Forget it, just, uhm, no just
forgot it.

He walks over to an elevator, leaving Francesca in shock,

and he gets inside. We then cut to him in his office, using
a computer.

We hear a knocking on the door. Thomas tells them to enter

and a man walks inside. They are the aforementioned
Timothy, who is a colleague of Thomas.

TIMOTHY
Hi Thomas, how have you been.

THOMAS
I am fine, yeah, just been
struggling to sleep.

TIMOTHY
Oh yeah, wasn't Walter at your
house last night, how is he.
8.

At the mention of Walters name, Thomas begins to get on

edge

THOMAS
Oh...well, my memories a bit hazy,
um, you know, the whole night feels
like a blur.

TIMOTHY
Oh jeez, you feeling alright now.

THOMAS
(Nervously)
Um, yeah i am fine now thanks, so
what is the issue, why'd you come
here.

TIMOTHY
Well, truth be told, I was
expecting a meeting with Walter 30
minutes ago, and I cant get hold of
him. I was wondering if you knew
anything.

THOMAS
(More nervous than
before)
Well, mayb...erh, He mig...

He starting to mumble and panic.

TIMOTHY
(concerned)
Are you ok? You don't look well.

THOMAS
No...No, i am f-fine, I just need a
few minutes.

He stumbles past Timothy, and walks through the office

door. He stumbles through a hall, towards a bathroom.

Inside the bathroom, he turns on the tap and wets his face.

He stares into the mirror, and begins to punch it.

We then cut back to him walking through the halls. We see

flashes of the dark room, with him laughing and shouting
inside of it. He finally stumbles to the outside, where he
falls over.

Whilst on the floor, we see someone reach to give him a

hand up. He accepts this, and begins to turn to the person.
9.

As the person comes into frame, we see that it is Walter,

the same man he had believed to kill. There is a look of
sheer terror on Thomas's face.

WALTER
Hi Thomas, how are you? Look i'm
sorry I missed last night, you know
how work is. Is was ju-, Thomas?
Thomas are you ok.

His voice slowly fades out as we focus on Thomas's

terrified face.

Cut to black,
