ANALYSIS
1. Is it more reasonable to believe that which is developing in the mother's womb is a human
being?
- I believe even your just an embryo in your mother’s womb as long as you are alive and
you have development, your are considered a human being.
2. What are proofs that which is developing in the mother's womb is a living human being?
- The proof that the developing in the mother’s womb is a living human being if it has a
DNA and body distinct from her/his mother and father. She/he develops her/his own
arms, legs, brain, nervous system, heart, and so forth. She/he is living. Then the unborn
meets the biological criteria for life that proofs that he/she is a human being.
3. Is any realization from today's discussion change your stand and abortion? Explain your
answer.
- No, my stand for abortion will always be against it and will never change. Even they
aren’t yet develop you should not kill them. As they say, It is a blessing. You have no
right to deprive such innocent human being the life that God’s given to him/her. That is
why before performing a sexual intercourse with someone you should be prepared of the
consequences that you will have after doing it. You should be responsible for that act
because your so brave for doing it so, you should be brave enough too to face the result.
4. What are the effect s of alcohol, caffeine, and nicotine on the developing embryo or fetus?
- Use of alcohol, caffeine, and nicotine during pregnancy can have serious consequences
for the fetus, such as low birth weight, congenital anomalies, or even death.

TEST YOUR UNDERSTANDING

1. STAGES OF PRE-NATAL DEVELOPMENT

Germinal Period( First 2 weeks after conception)

 Creation of the zygote.

 Continued cell division.
 The attachment of the zygote to the uterine wall.
The differentiation of cells already begins as inner and outer layers of
the organism are formed. The blastocyst, the inner layer of cells that
develops during the germinal period, develops later into the embryo.
The trophoblast, the outer layer of cells that develops also during the
germinal period, later provides nutrition and support for the embryo.

Embryonic Period( 2-8 weeks after conception)

In this stage, the name of the mass cells, zygote, become embryo. The
following Developments take place:
 Cell differentiation intensities
 Life-support systems for the embryo develop and
 Organs appear
Fetal Period( 2-7 months after conception)

After the embryonic stage, the fetal stage begins and your baby is called
a fetus. This stage runs from the 11th week until birth. Your baby will
grow longer and gain weight quicker. His or her organs and body parts
will continue to develop.

RESEARCH CONNECTION

RESEARCH PROBLEM REASEARCH METHODOLOGY

 Prenatal stress and child development:  .We searched abstracts published from
A scoping review of research in low and Jan 1960- Jan 2017. Search terms were
middle – income countries related to stresss and psychosocial health;
pregnancy; infant or child development;
and LMICs.

FINDINGS CONCLUSIONS
 .48 articles were identified. Sixty percent  Results highlight the importance of
of studies were in upper -middle, 25% in prenatal stress on infant and child
lower – middle , and 15% in low income outcomes in LMICs. Methods used in
countries. Most studies used high-income countries are successfully
questionnaires, either existing or tailor – employed in LMICs, but tailored tools
made, to assess stress,. Eight assessef remain necessary. Careful assessment of
cortisol. Most studies(n=31) assessed covariates is needed to foster analysis of
infant outcomes at birth, particularly interactive effects and pathways. Studies
gestational age or preterm birth ( n= 22,12 including longer term follow- up should
showing significant relationship), and be prioritized.
birthweight ( n= 21,14 showing
significant relationships). Five studies
analyzed development, all showing
significant results; and nine in childhood
such as behavioral development, asthma,
and physical growth, with eight showing
significant results.

REFLCTION
There are actually time that I think why I have given this kind of nose, short height, etc. I am so full of
insecurities especially when I was still in my high school years. I was so envy of the looks of my friends.
But now I realized so many things. I really wanted to be confident in everything because especially now
in school I need it so much. And so, to be confident, you need of course to accept who you are and what
you have. Accept everything that God given to you. That is why I started accepting myself. This helps me
to realize the importance of what I have. Because there are other people out there who suffer from
undeveloped body parts or other things that keep them to be different in physical appearance. I’m so
thankful that even though I am short, have a wide forehead and a small nose. These things make me who I
am. I see myself as a pretty human being in my way. I’m so thankful to Almighty God that he had given a
complete package. Also, to my parents for the genes and for taking good care of me.
