To the people's lives, and the nation's wealth
Through careful calculation, and careful stealth

They weighed the costs, and considered the gains

And in the end, their program remains
A shining example, of what can be done
When reason and logic, are second to none

The people may grumble, and protest with might

But the government knows, it's doing what's right
For the greater good, of the nation at large
Their program marches on, without any charge

So let the naysayers, shout and complain

The government's program, will still remain
A beacon of hope, for a brighter tomorrow
Through utilitarian thought, and careful follow-through
