HOW TO MAKE

TORTAS AHOGADAS

INGREDIENTS
Ingredients to make Tortas ahogadas de Guadalajara:
• 6 breads (French, bolillo or birote)
• 500 grams of pork carnitas For the hot sauce
• 300 grams of refried beans • 1 teaspoon roasted sesame
• 1 coriander stick • 1 pinch of pepper • 50 grams of chile de arbol
• 3 slices of radish • 1 garlic clove • 1 piece of onion
• 2 cloves • 4 tablespoons white vinegar
For tomato sauce
• 125 milliliters of water • 1 pinch of salt to taste
• 10 tomatoes • 1 garlic clove
• 1 piece of onion • 1 pinch cumin
• 2 cloves • 1 teaspoon grain salt
• 1 pinch of oregano • 1 pinch of marjoram
PROCEDURE
Start assembling the drowned cake, so cut the bread in half, remove the

crumb and fill with a layer of refried beans and a portion of carnitas

On a large and shallow plate, place the stuffed bread and add the tomato

sauce until it is completely covered. Accompany with the onion tanning

and add a little of the spicy chile de arbol sauce. You can decorate with a

little sliced radish and cilantro.
