Types of Writing
1. Informative Writing – gives information and straightforward facts regarding a
topic.
2. Persuasive Writing – convince the reader to agree with the writers opinion.
3. Argumentative Writing - aims to change the reader’s mind by convincing him or
her to agree with your point of view or consider your stand or argument on an issue.

Movie Review
A movie review sums up the author’s personal impression and critical evaluation of a film
and its elements organized in paragraphs. It contains the genre and style, the target audience
and cinematography and editing.
Fantine - A working-class girl who leaves her hometown of Montreuil-sur-mer to seek her
fortune in Paris.
Cosette - Fantine’s daughter, who lives as Valjean’s adopted daughter after her mother dies.
Marius - An innocent young man, Marius is nonetheless capable of great things and
manages both to fight on the barricades and successfully court the love of his life, Cosette.
Inspector Javert - A police inspector who strictly believes in law and order and will stop at
nothing to enforce France’s harsh penal codes.
Literary Devices
are tools used by writers to hint at larger themes, ideas, and meaning in a story or piece of
writing.
1. Simile - (indirect comparison) two unrelated objects are being compared to each
other with the use of the words “like” or “as.”
2. Metaphor - (direct comparison) a statement in which two objects, often unrelated,
are compared to each other.
3. Personification - giving human attributes to nonhuman objects.
4. Imagery – it engages the senses.
Sound devices
are special tools the poet can use to create certain effects in the poem to convey and
reinforce meaning through sound.
1. Alliteration - is the repetition of the consonant sounds at the beginning of words.
2. Assonance - is repetition of vowel sounds within words.
