4. List Of Manpower
The Manpower for PFP of ISBL structural steel & Equipment, but is not limited to S.NO.1 to 5 as
other manpower will be utilized on site.
Manpower estimated for this work includes but not limited to:
5. List Of Equipment
The Equipment for sand blasting and painting of OSBL structural steel, but is not limited to S/ NO.1
to 5as other equipment will be utilized on site.
Equipment will be assigned to this work include but not limited to:
- When areas cannot be properly coated by spraying for reason, such as material or environmental
considerations.
- For the initial coat of paint to corners, edges, crevices, holes, welds or irregular surfaces prior to
spray application.
- Jotachar JF750 is applied manually using a plastering trowel or similar and then smoothed off
- using a short nap roller slightly dampened with Jotun Thinner No. 7 or No. 17. Rolling should be
conducted within 30 minutes of initial application.
Frequency of measurements.
Structural steelwork:
- On open profile sections a minimum of one reading should be taken every linear meter along the
length of each
Vessels
- On flat plates, vessels, un-stiffened decks and bulkheads, a minimum of two readings should be taken
every one square meter coated side
- In the event of the film thickness not meeting the specified requirements, additional coat of the paint
concerned shall be applied in compliance with the specified requirements.
- For DFT up to and less than 10 mm the minimum allowable dry film thickness is 85 % of the specified
DFT
- For DFT above 10 mm the minimum acceptable thickness is the specified DFT less 1.5 mm
- Where any single thickness reading is found to be less than 85 % or 1.5 mm of the specified DFT, a
further
three readings shall be taken within 200 to 300 mm around the area of the low reading. If one or more
of the
additional readings are less than 85 % or 1.5 mm of the specified DFT, further readings shall be made to
determine the extent of the area of under thickness. In such cases, low thickness areas identified must
be
brought up to the specified dry film thickness before proceeding to the next application stage
7 Safety
The Surface preparation and PFP Application work shall be carried out only after obtaining all safety
precaution. All equipment shall be properly grounded when in use.
All personnel, painting and PFP Applicator / Operators shall be provided with proper protective gears,
earplugs, coveralls, heavy duty gloves, eye protection etc.
A ‘stand by’ man shall be present at all times while PFP Application is in progress to warn the operator,
if any hazards arise.
All personnel engaged in mixing and handling materials etc. shall wear appropriate clothing. The spray
equipment shall not be operated above safe working pressure limit and the trigger safety catch shall
be engaged when spraying is interrupted or completed.
Storage of material shall be strictly as per safety regulation.
