The actual pulp market and future trends

Abstract
This presentation reviews the development of the eucalyptus pulp in the last 15 years, almost the
time frame from the first to the seventh ICEP. A winning fiber, eucalyptus has being used in many different
applications on paper based industry and gained market share around the world. The huge growth pushed
the limits of the pulp mills, almost duplicating equipment and mill sizes. Also, moved most of the fibers
production growth to the southern hemisphere, especially in South America, where the highest forestry yields
are being achieved. The future trend seems to consolidate Eucalyptus on the Tissue and Paper Packaging
segments, continuous forestry yield growth development, certification of planted forests assets and the
applications beyond the traditional pulp and paper industry, as increasing energy outputs and biobased
products.
