AMERICAN DIPLOMA

 12 school years that begin in 9th grade and end upon completion of 12th grade, Studying
a set-schedule. Students need at least 50% of their school grades in addition to other
percentages, assigned by boards, of different exams to enter colleges.
 Must take SAT, AP, ACT, or EST (Egypt) exams.

What are the SAT, AP, & ACT exams?


• They are standardized college admissions tests in the US and offered by the College
Board or ACT
• Passing those Exams provide students with a better chance to be accepted in universities
around the world.

The SAT is a standardized test meant to show how school students are prepared for college by
measuring key skills in Math or English
 5 trials per year, August, October, December, March, and May.
 Acceptable Scores vary between 1100-1600 depending on the university and major.

AP Tests are the Advanced Placement Tests offered by College Board too
• This can be taken as subject tests in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math, Computer Science,
Music, and some other languages.
• Enables students to skip introductory college courses.
• Available only during the month of May.

ACT Test measures high school student’s readiness for college.


• Available as English, Math, Biology, Chemistry, and physics.
• Same qualification as SAT.
• 7 trials per year. September, October, December, February, April, June and July

When Should You Take the Exams?


• The ideal time to take the SAT or ACT for the first time is usually in winter of your junior
year (grade 11), when you’ve covered most of the material in school, but you still have
time to take it again.
• AP is ideal to be taken in your junior and senior years, as these are advanced levels that
test your skills in a specific subject area at college level.
• Those exams expire with two years.
What are the requirements?
Lebanon
• Must do SAT
• AP is recognised as well.
• The percentage to be admitted is a combination of high school grades and SAT or equivalent
exams.

Jordan
• Students can replace 25% of school numeric grades from the Last 3 high school years with one
AP, ACT general test, OR two ACT subject tests.
• 6 ACT subject tests. 25% +75%
• 4 ACT subject tests and 1 Ap or ACT general test. 25%+50%+25%
• 2 ACT subjects and 2 Aps. 25%+25%+50%
• 3 AP tests. 25%+75%
• ACT general test and 2 AP tests. 25%+25%+50%
• 2 ACT subject tests+ one AP + ACT general test. 25%+25%+25%+25%
• The percentage to be admitted is a combination of high school grades and SAT or equivalent
exams.

USA \ Canada
• Must do SAT Exam or equivalent
• Enters university as Freshman
• Requirements may vary depending on universities
• UK universities will require a foundation year to prepare students for university qualifications.

Egypt
• Combination of 8 subjects (not repeated). Max of 2 from grade 10, max of 4 from grade 11, and a
min of 4 & max of 8 from grade 12.
• Scores of SAT, ACT, or EST.
• EST I & EST II, Egyptian Scholastic Test, that meets common core standards.
• Pharmacy\ Medicine: Biology + Math, Chemistry or Physics
• Engineering: Math + Biology, Chemistry or Physics
• Minimum score of 800 for two EST I. Minimum score of 900 for EST II.

Saudi Arabia
• General Aptitude Test, Kodorat and Tahsili
• Achievement Test for Majors that require it
• Total Score is made of the three items.
• Different universities use different percentages
• King Abdul Aziz University:
• High School 50% + Aptitude Test 30% + Achievement Test 20%
About all of these exams
• All of them are paid exams.
• Fees of different boards, subjects, and qualifications
vary and are subject to change from one session to
another.
• SAT & ACT are registered online by students as they
choose the date that best suits them. Payment is
also processed online.
• Registering AP exams must be arranged with a
school that is a center for those exams. Please visit
