WARM UP:
We will start by introducing ourselves in order to get to know each other. The
following presentation will be displayed https://prezi.com/i/9ps8oikpv4tl/ and students
will have to ask direct questions to the teacher or either guess what the graphic word
stands for. The idea is that after that they can start introducing themselves as well.
If they do not give much information about themselves, I will start asking questions
related to Part 1 of the Speaking section from a Mock test.

PRESENTATION:

After talking about our free time activities, they will hear some concert sound effects
so they guess this free time activity.(https://www.youtube.com/watch?

After they guess, I will start asking questions about concerts, favorite bands,
activities they enjoy with friends, families, etc. We are going to list these activities so
we have an introduction for the following task.

DEVELOPMENT:

1. Page 6: Activity 2

The verbs ‘‘do, go, have, listen, make, play, watch’’ will be displayed along with the
nouns from the box, so they can match vocabulary.

2. Page 6: Activity 3

Using Activity 2 vocabulary with the expressions from the sentences in Activity 3.

3. Page 6: Activity 5

Pronunciation time: Focusing on stress

After listening to questions related to free time activities, students will have a
conversation using the 3 questions.

4. Page 7: Activity 6

They will listen to other students’ answers and complete the phrases they hear. After
checking answers, we will make comparisons of our previous answers from activity
5.

5. Page 7: Interview

I will display the questions on a board and they will match the topics. After that, they
will answer these questions and the teacher will explain this part of the test.

6. Page 7: Ask and answer

Students will ask 2 more questions from the previous activity.

Homework: Think about any other kind of festival in your country and prepare a short

WARM UP AND PRESENTATION:

Ask them what they remember of some information about festivals from the previous
reading text. Find out if they have looked for more information to share.

Look for the common topics to compare and the differences with the Coachella
Festival.

Go back to the text and remember more information about the reading section.

DEVELOPMENT:

1. Page 9: Activity 6 - Gapped text

Read the sentences and then they will choose the best option that fits each gap in
the text. Then, we will discuss the answers and their choices.

2. Page 9: Vocabulary

Display on the board the following words: ambitious, confirming, iconic,


impoverished, cater for, etc. Then ask students to look for the context and try to
guess their meanings. After that, they will match their definitions.

3. Page 10: Grammar focus

The table with the sentences will be displayed so students can identify their forms,
uses and structures.

4. Page 11: Activity 3

Before students complete the text with the structures, we will play hangman to guess
the word ‘’vinyl’’, and then we’ll discuss what kind of people buy vinyl these days.
