TIPPS BEFORE STARTING.

• When using similar or the same yarn with the same hook size, the tiger will be
approx. 20 cm tall.

• When you need to decrease, make Invisible Decrease crochet stitches to have a
neater result.

• Please be aware that when you use different yarns and hook sizes, the outcome may
vary and you may have to adjust the size of eyes.

• Colour change is worked at the end of the previous stitch. Work the last stitch
before the colour change as usual but don’t complete the last stitch. When you have
2 loops on your hook, yarn over in the new yarn colour and finish the stitch.
Continue working with the new colour.

MODELLING THE FACE.
If the head is filled with enough stuffing, you can now sculpt the eyes with bringing the
eyes inwards. Take a long thread which you also have used for crocheting the tiger. With a
sharp and long needle, pull both ends of the thread through the head very close to the eye
and come out again at the head opening. Take one of the thread ends and repeat the
same with the second eye. Pull on both thread ends as tight as possible until the eyes move
inwards. Knot both ends carefully.
Once the eyes have been modelled, you can add the white of the eyes to the outer edge of
the eye. Use a long cotton thread in colour White and embroider a small stitch at the outer
part of the eye. Repeat these steps on the second eye as well. Knot the ends at the bottom
of the head.
Before sewing, fix the snout with pins, symmetrically between both eyes. The eyes should
lie close to the snout. The upper part of the snout ends between rnd 14 and 15. Now sew
the snout carefully onto the head by using the whip stitch. Make sure from time to time that
the snout is still symmetrical. If not, just open some stitches again and -re-sew it. Before
finishing with sewing, stuff the snout with polyfiber, as tight as possible. Close the
remaining hole and sew the thread carefully into the inner of the head.
Then sew the nose onto the upper part of the snout, exactly in the middle. With a black
embroidery floss, sew a horizontal line from the nose 6 rounds down.
Take again a long black embroidery floss and embroider the eyebrows exactly 4 rounds
above the eye, diagonally over 2 stitches.
Now embroider the tiger stripes, starting at the forehead. In an irregular pattern sew black
and white stripes horizontally by using embroidery floss or thin cotton yarn. Repeat the
same for the cheeks by using only colour Black. Make a distance of minimum 4 stitches
between the eyes and the stripes.
Sew the ears left and right onto the head, with a distance of 6 rounds between the MR of
the head and the ear.

SEWING THE REMAINING BODY PARTS.

Sew the head carefully onto the body. Make sure the head is sewn on facing straight ahead.
Sew the arms directly under the head left and right onto the body.
Finally sew the tail onto the lower part of the back exactly in the middle.
