Target audience
Target audience refers to the specific group of consumers who are most likely to
want your product or service. Target audience can be dictated by
age,gender,income,location and interests.
Target audience is important because focusing on a few specific target groups
allows you to advertise more effectively.This also means allocating money and
resources on relevant consumer groups. Knowing a specific audience group to target
also helps to solidify a brand voice resonates.This amplifies your social media
branding efforts.Focusing on target audiences also builds a loyalty bone between the
company and the consumer.

Demographic:
Demographics is a way of categorising an audience into different groups in return for
doing this it allows the producers to be able to pinpoint specific groups.These
include:
● Age
● Gender
● Lifestyle (determined by spare time,hobbies,interests and
their beliefs)
● Spending Power(The degree to which people have money to
buy products and services)

Age: According to the media pack, the

age range for this magazine is from 18-
40 years old and are employed and are
in a relationship but not necessarily
married as well as being university
educated.
The reason for this age range can be
due some of the contents being too
graphic for a younger audience.

Gender: The targeted gender for this

magazine is for men. The reason for this could be because of the more masculine
information contained inside and this could be more appealing to men.
Lifestyle: The type of people who read Empire magazine are those who use cinema
as escapism or insight into other worlds. These people are also key influencers in
their group of friends and within their family — no-one would dream of seeing a film
without their recommendation.

Spending power:The empire magazine is a very affordable magazine making it

more accessible to people with a lower income so it does not affect the target
audience as much.
