Analysis of a photograph

1. The name of the media house is CNN. The authors here are Kyle Almond and Brett
Rogiers.

2. The main theme portrayed through these photographs is Death and Destruction
caused mainly by war. The sub themes are fear for the lives of their young ones,
cruelty and inhumanity displayed particularly on part of the Russian forces,
devastation and suffering for the Ukrainians.

3. The main global issue portrayed here “Death and Destruction caused by war”. The
inhuman and cruel actions of Russia have been highlighted in much detail as the
Ukrainians are forced to part ways with their families not knowing what horrors are
awaiting them in the future. The wailing of several mothers and fathers on seeing
their children lying dead after being bombed by the Russian forces displays the plight
of many families who were stranded in Ukraine at that very moment.

4. The sub global issues we can find in the picture is the trauma and pain suffered by
many mothers anxious for the safety of their loved ones and trying their level best to
divert their child’s attention from looking what’s above the ground. Trying their level
best to save their children from the trauma they would suffer after knowing the
horror and the number of deaths that have been caused due to the continuous
bombings by Russian forces.
