1. What SE Operating Model do you want to adopt?
The social enterprise operating model I propose is a hybrid model that combines the Cooperative
Model and the Market Linkage Model.
The Market Linkage Model involves linking the cooperative with larger markets outside the
Barangay Pasil. This can be done by forming partnerships with wholesalers, distributors, and
retailers. This model will enable the enterprise to generate revenue and become more sustainable.
The cooperative will need to ensure that it adheres to quality standards and has the necessary
certifications to meet the requirements of these markets.
4. Describe how the SE and the community can benefit from the Model.
The social enterprise model proposed would benefit both the SE and the community in several
ways. For the SE, the model would provide a reliable and sustainable revenue stream that would
allow it to grow and scale up over time. By involving the community as stakeholders and
decision-makers, the enterprise would also have a greater sense of ownership and accountability,
leading to greater resilience and long-term viability. The Market Linkage Model would enable
the enterprise to access larger markets, which would generate more revenue, increase profits, and
make the enterprise more sustainable.
For the community, the model would provide job opportunities, income, and skills development,
reducing poverty rates and improving the quality of life. The cooperative model would also
promote social cohesion and community building, addressing the underlying causes of poverty
and promoting community resilience. Finally, the environmentally sustainable production
practices would help to preserve the local ecosystem and ensure its long-term viability,
benefiting both the SE and the community.
