Program Details

Structure
● Train as a team, not an individual.
○ You go through the blocks as a team to complete assignments, participate in hackathon, & MICCAI
BraTS Challenge.
○ Team assignments are listed on subsequent slides and in program Google Drive.

● Each team is comprised of:

○ 1 Site Director, 1 Team supervisor (Program Coordinator), 1 Team Captain, & 6-7 team members.

● Time commitment:
○ Foundation course average of 12 hrs total, Hackathon 9hr/day, practicum average of 20 hr/week.

Training will be in 3 blocks (See Program Guide):

● Foundation (Teach): April 3 to May 13th

○ Virtual + 2hr Saturday Tutorial

● Hackathon (Try): May 22nd to May 26th

○ Hybrid from Monday to Friday

● Practicum (Use): May 29th to July 31st

○ Virtual + 2hr Saturday Tutorial

All live events including seminars and tutorials are in East Africa Time

Team Composition and Assignment

• Team composition details, assignment, and roles are outlined in the Team Composition document in the Program
Guide Google Drive.

• See the Team Assignment document in the Program for your assigned team

• You cannot change or swap your team.

• Each team must pick a team captain, where not assigned by April 10th.

• Communication and networking between team can be via email or whatsapp/slack following platform policies and
SPARK Academy Code of Conduct.

Program Expectations:

1. Be an active team player.

2. Actively participate in all program activities including live lectures and tutorials.

3. Complete all reading and lecture materials, assignments, milestones and deliverables.

4. Attend the hackathon every day and actively participate.

5. Behave professionally and responsibly towards everyone both in-person and online during all formal and informal activities,
regardless of location.

6. Review the Code of Conduct on the SPARK Academy Training Platform in Fourwaves.
