ASTHMA

 38-year-old female with history of asthma


 Complains of fever
 Acute shortness of breath
 Audible wheezing
 On and off fever and shortness of breath with
wheezing for the past 3-5 days and
progressively worsening on the day of
admission.
 Not associated with white sputum.
 Stays near the garment factory and has a cat
 Smokes half a pack of cigarettes per day and
occasional alcoholic drinker.
 Cousin with bronchial asthma.
 Newly diagnosed with bronchial asthma in her
last admission 3 weeks ago.
 Salbutamol and Budesonide inhalers, 200 mcg
when necessary and 200 mcg once at night for
bronchial asthma.
examination:
 Alert and conscious
 Pink and fairly hydrated
 Able to speak in full sentences
 Not tachypneic RR26
 Bp 130/90mmHg
