The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) under the ageis of Ministry of Micro Small Medium Enterprises is the National Nodal agency for the implementation of PMEGP in the country. The PMEGP is one of the flagship programme successfully implemented form 2008-09 onwards. In the State of Kerala more than 25,000 new enterprises have been set up and disbursed around 500 Crs. Subsidy under the said scheme. The main objective of the scheme is to promote new enterprises in the State for generating employment opportunities. Basically, PMEGP scheme focuses on unemployed youth who intends to start ‘own enterprises with the support of Govt. subsidy (Margin Money grant) and bank loan. Govt. subsidy up to the level of 35% on total project cost is extended to the beneficiaries. Any individual, above 18 years of age, at least Vill standard pass for Projects costing above Rs.10 lakh in the manufacturing sector and above Rs. 5 lakh in the business / service sector are eligible to apply. Only new projects are considered for sanction under PMEGP. This Is the one and only scheme extends maximum subsidy to its beneficiaries. 'n order to dissiminate the benefits under PMEGP and to inspire the young minds, KVIC desires to conduct the out reach programme at various colleges /technical institutions in the Stote. As the part of conducting such programme, this office would like to seek support of your institution to conduct one awareness programme among the young professionals/youth to start new enterprises under PMEGP scheme which is also part of celebrating “Azadi ka Amrut Mchotsav”. The tentative date for the programme is on 17 February 2023 at 2.30 PM.
