Jose Naceda - Born in Manila on January 19, 1917. Music style
was profoundly influenced when he encountered the music of
indigenous tribes of Mindoro in 1953. He then embarks his

resulted in an immense collection of recorded music taken
from the remote mountain villages and far flung in and
communities in the Philippines. Passed away on May 6, 2004.

Lucrcia Kasilag – Compositional style demonstrated a fusion of
eastern and western styles in using instruments, melody,

Jerry Dadap – Was Born on November 6, 1935. First Filipino
composer to conduct his own works at the Carnegle Recitical
Hall in New York City, started comosing when he was still
studying at Siliman University in the Southern City of
Dumagete. Among his numerous compositions is the musical
play Andres Bonifacio, and Ang Dakilang Anak Pawis.

Ramon Santos – Compositional Style features chromaticism,

indigenous Philippine Music elements. He held the position of

he is the head of the UP Center of Ethnomusicology and was
appointed Professor Emeritus of the same institution. He is a
National Artist of Music.

vocal music using Asian vocal techniques.
Levi Celerio – Made It to Guinness Book of records for being

Santiago Suarez – Was an accomplished composer of

Ernani cuencob – Was a composer, film scorer, musical
