I. CHAPTER ONE: INTRODUCTION
1.1 Rationale Social networks in general and TikTok are one of the major platforms that currently attract millions of young people today. TikTok is becoming more and more popular and the number of users in the age of students in Vietnam is growing. TikTok is a social media music video application for Android and IOS that was launched in 2017 by a Chinese multinational internet technology company. In contrast to other social networking platforms, tiktok is characterized by its short video and simple usage. TikTok has become an exceptionally popular app due to its current features such as making cash, creating appealing commercials, or assisting people in coming up with ideas and delivering material and messages via video. Vietnam is currently one of the Southeast Asian countries with the highest TikTok user growth. According to Nguyen Lam Thanh (2020year?), TikTok's policy director in Vietnam, by the end of March 2020, the platform had 12 million regular registered users in Vietnam. 1.2 Aims and objectives Because TikTok became so popular and the number of users expanded so quickly, our team decided to investigate why the second year student at the University of Foreign Languages young people from the age of 12 to 24 years old in VietNam select TikTok as entertainment and the influence of TikTok on userstheir behaviors. 1.3 Research Questions 1.2 - Is TikTok really a basis of long-term development for young people to develop themselves? 1.
