1. In what way you think you have experienced globalization?

Even on a day-to-day basis, we can say that globalization has created a big impact to us. During
my High School days, I was one of the fortunate young students in our school being granted a
scholarship from France, named the Enfants du Mekong which is an NGO. They have financially
stable citizens and with their kindness, I have the chance to experience that. Aside from this, the
food that we eat, the things we used at home, in schools and in office have the evidence of
globalization. The phone I’m using for example. I’m using Huawei phone which was originally
created from China. The things they make help me as well as other Filipinos make our
communication easier. So actually, we are just part of a single web where everything is connected
and can destroy or benefit on each other.

2. Why can't stop globalization?

As what I’ve mentioned above, we are connected on single web. I personally define globalization
as that. We are all benefitting the success of the other as well as get affected also by the crisis or
problems of the other. Stopping globalization would mean killing the lives of people either directly
or indirectly. When a certain country boosts its economic state, that mirrors the foundation of
many infrastructures where plenty of work are offered, thus, the rise of the need of man power is
highly needed. These instances will allow other citizens from other countries like us Philippines to
migrate and apply for the vacant jobs. Those who work abroad are also paying taxes to the
Philippines, and these taxes will be considered as one of the founding sources of income in our
country which in return will be made into projects that will help the Filipino people. On the
contrary, when a certain country is in a state of a crisis and they have to close establishments,
Filipinos who work from these companies are obliged to go back here in the Philippines and
these numerous Balikbayans will then be somehow a problem to our country since we can’t
accommodate everyone in terms of work. Based on the example given, definitely we can’t just
stop globalization. It’s like an organ in our body wherein if only one organ missing, the whole body
will not function really well.
