PROPOSAL ACTIVITY on Contextualized Learning Plan in Kindergarten

Rationale: This intervention aimed to enhance the pupil's ability to know and master the letter sound of the letters by watching a 5-minute video on Sinugbuanong Binisaya Tingog sa Letra
Aa-Zz of bichronous/online kindergarten pupils in Canitoan Elementary School, SY 2021-2022.
It was observed during Pre-Assessment on November 2021 using the ASER tool; out of 32 pupils in my online class, only five can identify 6-10 of the sound of letters. The teacher
continually taught about the letter sound, and by February 2022, the teacher re-assessed the pupils, but the result sounded alarming. The teacher observed that most pupils didn't know the
letter's sound, and most pupils knew only the letter’s name. Then, the teacher proposed or presented a reading intervention program to the parents to cater to and address the needs of my
pupils to develop their phonics skills. This 5-Minute Video was presented to the parents for 1-Month activity only for March 2022. It contains alphabet letters from Aa to Zz with key
pictures, including the audio narration of the letter sound. The teacher instructed parents to play this Video daily with their kids under their supervision and encouraged them to watch it and
imitate the audio. After the program's implementation, the teacher will schedule a pupil-teacher post-conference. Phonics is essential for kindergarten pupils to become successful readers
and spellers/writers in the early years of schooling and beyond.
Descriptions: Reading program: A reading intervention program for the pupil-parent to address the needs of my pupils to develop their phonics skills. The pupils will be able to know the
