Tour and Sports Tourism.
Definition of Tour.
 A journey for pleasure in which several
different places are visited.

Tour.
Tour guiding is an interactive activity in which a
tour guide meets a tourist or a group of tourists, and
takes them to a place called a tourism destination or
a tourist attraction. He engages them in
commentary about the place.

Importance of Tour.
Tours give you the opportunity to see a lot, within a
time frame. You get to see a place, its culture,
treasures, and big sites, taste the cuisine, blend with
the locals and then you're off again. Essentially, you
get to sample the very best of a place and what it
has to offer.
Function of Tour Operator.
Handling bookings, invoicing and issuing of tickets.
predicting profits or number of bookings. working
with travel consultants from different travel
agencies to put holiday packages together.
combining travel, accommodation and services such
as sightseeing arrangements to create holiday
packages.
National Tour.
The activities of resident visitors within and
outside the country of reference, either as part of
domestic or outbound tourism trips.

Function of National Tour.

National tourism offices (NTOs) are the agencies
responsible for the promotion and, sometimes, the
management of the development of the tourism
industry within a country.
International Tour.
International tourism is tourism that crosses
national borders. Globalisation has made tourism a
popular global leisure activity. The World Tourism
Organization defines tourists as people "traveling to
and staying in places outside their usual
environment for not more than one consecutive year
for leisure, business and other purposes".
Sports Tourism.
Tourism and sports are interrelated and
complementary. Sports – as a professional,
amateur or leisure activity – involves a considerable
amount of traveling to play and compete in
different destinations and countries. Major sporting
events, such as the Olympic Games, football and
rugby championships have become powerful
tourism attractions in themselves – making a very
positive contribution to the tourism image of the
host destination.
