One of the three trainings or practices of Buddhism


is;

Sila: Virtue, good conduct, morality. This is based on two fundamental principles: The
principle of equality: that all living entities are equal. The principle of reciprocity: This is
the "Golden Rule" in Christianity - to do unto others as you would wish them to do unto
you. It is found in all major religions.
Fraternit “Non-Self” or” Self-emptying” in Buddhism. Self-emptying offers the basis for the genuine
y experience of fraternity. It creates the space for the other to be the
other and calls us to work together as true sisters and brothers. It offers a form of self-
donation and expresses the true
meaning of Love or Compassion.
Sacrifice Instead of Buddhists killing animals for sacrifice, they believe in ‘self-sacrifice’ where the
bodhisattva sacrifices himself to save others. He (bodhisattva) “perfects himself not
through sacrificing another in his place, but by sacrificing himself for the sake of others.”

Synergy Buddhism greatly influenced the Indian religion. It gave to Indian people a simple and
popular religion. It rejected ritualism,sacrifices and dominance of priestly class. It has also
left its permanent mark on Indian religious thought. Buddhism appealed to the masses on
account of its simplicity, use of vernacular language in its scriptures and teachings and
monastic order. Buddhism left deep impact on the society. It gave serious impetus to
democratic spirit and social equality. It opened its doors to women and shudras.Buddhism
encouraged abolition of distinctions in society and strengthened the principle of social
equality
