4. Provide 1 flat bar in each group
5. Individually perform welding (one bead) considering the
five essentials in welding.

Teacher will assess their work with the help of the rubrics below.

Rubrics
Safety (wearing complete PPE) 30 points

5 points deduction if one (1) of

the PPE is missing.
Set-Up (Welding machine and 10 points
accessories)

3 points deduction if the process

of set up is wrong.
Cleanliness at the workplace 20 points

5 points deduction if the place is

not clean well.
Perform the five essentials of 40 points
welding

8 points deduction in every weld

defect that can be seen in your
work.
Total: 100 points

IV. EVALUATION Activity 6. (Evaluation)

Test I. IDENTIFICATION
Instructions: Identify what is being asked on the following questions.
1. The distance from the tip of the electrode core wire to
the weld puddle.
2. It is the rate at which the electrode moves along the
work.
3. It is the filler metal used in SMAW
